For engagement sessions we normally stay near the Pittsburgh area or just north of it. But occasionally a couple suggests a spot that’s a bit further away…and we love it when they do! Beam Rocks Trail is special to Mary and Mark and they knew that it would be a beautiful location for their fall engagement session. So when they asked us if we could do their session there it was an easy yes from us!

Beam Rocks Trail is a 0.9-mile out-and-back trail near Somerset, Pennsylvania. Considered to be an easy trail, it only takes about 20 minutes to complete. It is a minimum effort, maximum reward trail, as when you get to the end of it you are greeted by beautiful 180 views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It’s also the perfect spot to catch a sunset with your love!

There are a few other wonderful trails in the area, so if you find yourself wanting an easy day trip outside of Pittsburgh, we totally recommend packing a lunch, your hiking boots and setting out for an easy but enjoyable day of hiking!
